Wings is a flash implementation of Google maps. You fly as an eagle, climbing, diving and catching thermals to stay aloft. This game is in very BETA release, there are some 2000 world cities in the database, but not all have appropriate imagery, as I test they will get edited. See below for more info, and for information on custom hotlinking to locations. Have fun flying!

To link to any world location simply use the link below, replacing lat, and long with the decimal values you want, and zoom with a value from 0 (closest) to 18 (far far away!) eg:

Not all locations have high detailed imagery, so you may need to try zoom levels further out.

24/10/06 : Preloader implemented and in game clouds (that you can thermal under!) Turn off clouds to make it faster. Use space to drop bird poo....

22/10/06 : Added the really nice cloud intro effect.

21/10/06 : Added a database of some 3000 world cities! Select country then the city to view. I haven't been through all of them yet so some imagery for the 'set' zoom level may not work. If you find one, please let me know! Flags are from my downloadable flag archive.

20/10/06 : Rendered the eagle frames and incorporated into game, adds a nice element to be soaring over the world. Eagle was bought from daz3d and rendered using their free 3d tool!

17/10/06 : The game is a flash interface to the Google Maps imagery. After being inspired by Paul Neaves Flash Earth and Mark Caswell-Daniels 'Goggles' I thought I'd try my hand as well.
